Bought a new Phone

Blogging after a long time. But I have to write about this. My last phone, Nokia Ngage, the gaming phone, was giving a lot of problems. Some buttons on the keypad were acting weird. The number 3, if pressed, would type number 2, but not vice versa. So it was getting frustrating to use the phone. I love my Ngage. It is a kickass phone to have if you are a gamer. (Read mobile gamer). :-P.
So we and my brother finally planned to go on a Saturday and buy a new phone. We were searching for a good exchange offer for Ngage. But couldn't find any.
I always liked Sony Ericsson phones. Because of the camera and music quality. I find the Nokia phones to be little terriblish. And this time, I wanted a good camera phone. As I have been going places, I wanted to capture all those times and the moments, which I had not done before. So my original choice was to buy any of the cybershot phones by Sony Ericsson. And I was pleased to find the C510.
The SE C510 phone would be from the bottom range of the cybershot phone as it goes with the money part of it. But I was able to find all the features that I required in a phone for me.
It has a kickass camera, with face detection feature. It has got a new feature which all the cybershot phones are now getting, which is the smile shutter. So I have got a lot of picture with people smiling their heart out. ;-)
So now I am a happy smiling person after buying my new phone. And now I am good to go with clicking pictures of anything to everything. Bye for now.

Prayag rocked Jamshedpur (The Steel City)

Hi guys,
After a long time. Was busy with gigs and practice sessions with my bands.
Just to inform you guys. I have been playing gigs with my new band "Khiladi". You can check the songs on www.myspace.com/khiladi.
So I had a gig with Prayag after a long time. And it has to be big as always. This time it was a new experience to play in front of school kids on their school fest. They were not the regular studious school kids (They are studious but), but they had the talent of playing music along with performance of Bharat naatyam and other forms of dance. They were just brilliant on stage. They even had a 25 piece Acapella singing "Maa Tujhe Salaam" by A. R. Rahman.

The time when we just entered the venue, Naveen (Guitarist, Prayag) and me were totally feeling like outsiders coz the only people inside the auditorium that we could see were small 5th or 6th standard kids with their Moms. But the whole night was about music, performances from different students, and all the parents had especially come to watch their kids playing live music.

It was just great to be a part of that. Loyola school should be called Loyola music institute with so much interest taken right from the principal (who was sitting in front of the sits while the bands were performing) to the students and their parents.
Next up was Prayag on stage. And the response that we got from those school kids was simply great. They were the loudest crowd we have ever played in front of. They knew all the songs that we were about to play. And were singing along with us. And the best part was, they knew some of our originals. And even appreciated other originals.

Overall, an awesome experience for us. Just becoz we have the crowd filled with six year olds to sixty year olds enjoying our music.

Next up is Khiladi playing three different competition fest in Mumbai starting from today. First up, is Ruia college, Dadar, and then tomorrow at NJJBTB and then at IIT Powai on Friday.

This guy is gonna make me stop playing drums

Today I came across this youtube video of Meshuggah drummer playing the most difficult songs to be ever played on drums. "Bleed". And look at the video, how easily and smoothly he is playing and enjoying the song.

How I started blogging

Hi,
Was just chatting with my brother after some two weeks. And he was surprised to see me keeping this blog running. So this is what I told him about how I started blogging.

It was all becoz of this site called Twitter in which you can type whatever you are doing currently. It is something like the status update on Facebook. But there is a limit to the number of words you type in one message. When I initially started writing, the space was enough. But then I was getting addicted, and needed more space to write about whatever was happening. This made me start writing online exclusively. I have never written a single comment on any forum or sites like that. The only site I used to put comments was Myspace. Later on, I need something even more comprehensive than twitter, so that is when I started with blogging.
